James Freddie Page, age 85, died August 6, 2017 in Olney, Texas. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark, minister of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ, officiating. Assisting will be Josh Deerinwater, grandson-in-law of the deceased. Military honors will be conducted by the American Volunteer Reserve. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Freddie was born on September 13, 1931 in Olney, Texas to the late Walter Frederick Page and Nora Ethel (Chalk) Page. He graduated from Olney High School in 1949 and attended Tarleton and East Texas State University-Commerce. He married Mary Childress on May 17, 1958 in Olney. Freddie was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army during the Cuban Crisis and was in the Texas National Guard for 12 years. He was a current member of the American Volunteer Reserve where he served as bugler and played taps for over 200 military funerals in Young County and the surrounding area. He achieved his Master Plumberís License and owned and operated Page Plumbing from 1954 to 2002. He read weather reports and reported the results to the National Weather Service in Ft. Worth for 49 years. He served The Olney Volunteer Fire Department and Civil Defense for many years. Freddie was elected Constable of Young County Precinct 3 in 1991 and took office in 1992, and he was still serving in that office. Freddie was preceded in death by two sisters, Della Maye Elson and Martha Brewer.

Freddie is survived by his wife, Mary Page of Olney; one son, Lindy Page and wife Mary of Jacksboro, Texas; two daughters, Melody Mae Bruning and husband Richard of Redlands, California and Noralyn Ripps and husband Greg of San Antonio, Texas; twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Lunn Funeral Home.
